Shooting in 4600 Blk Harford Rd

As many of you may have learned early this morning at 12:13 AM a 25 year old man was shot in the commission of a robbery in the 4600 Blk Harford Rd. near Grindon Ave. Here is the link to the Sunpapers’ article pertaining to this incident:

The victim was an adult male employee from McDonald's who just left work, who was confronted by a black male who announced a robbery. Detectives are actively and intensely working the case, and its resolution is a significant priority for the Northeast District.

Reminder: Fireworks illegal in city limits.

Major Darryl DeSousa the Commanding Officer of the Northeast Police District would like to share the following with you:

“With the fourth of July rapidly approaching, it is certainly understood that fireworks are a large part of that celebration. Professional fireworks displays can create a fun and enjoyable night for all. However, when taken away from professionals and used by amateurs, fireworks can become extremely dangerous.

In Baltimore City ALL FIREWORKS ARE ILLEGAL!

Violators who possess or discharge illegal fireworks are subject to a misdemeanor fine of up to $250. The sale of fireworks without a permit is a misdemeanor punishable by up to a $1,000 fine. (Public Safety Article 10-110). In addition with being fined and or arrested for illegal fireworks, you can be fined for Noise regulation beyond basic sound, up to $100. Individuals found in violation of these laws face arrest and prosecution, in addition to possible serious injuries as a result of their carelessness.

We want all citizens to have a safe and enjoyable summer. Please refrain from this risky and often deadly behavior.”

BMZA Hearing for Tattoo Parlor at 5528 Belair Rd

Under appeal number 2012-218 Micelelle Fortune is appealing to the Board of Municipal Zoning Appeals (BMZA) to use 5528 Belair Rd. for a tattoo and piercing parlor. The BMZA will hear this appeal on Tuesday, @ 2 PM in Room 215 at City Hall. 

We have found that letters of either support or opposition to the BMZA from the affected community and HARBEL have had significant impact on the BMZA's decisions.  Thus, I would urge you to take a position on this issue as quickly as possible, and write a letter to the BMZA. 

Further, if your community association apprises me of its position in this matter as soon as you possibly can, I will ensure a letter from HARBEL is FAXED to the BMZA supporting your position prior to the hearing.

Wanted: Robbery of KFC on Belair Rd


WANTED
BALTIMORE POLICE DEPARTMENT
                  

Above suspects are wanted for the armed commercial robbery of the KFC located at 6219 Belair Rd on 6/3/12. Both suspects were described as male/black, in the age range of 18-22yrs. Both are between 5-7”-5-9”. The suspect in all black has a heavier build than the other suspect. Suspect in the green was armed with a silver semi-auto handgun and jumped over the counter. They were last seen running northbound on Rasp Ave on 435 post.  Any unit with information on these suspects, or sees males with this clothing description in the area, please contact Citywide Robbery.
